Either tackle those finances (taxes anyone?) or indulge yourself (along with a significant other?) with one of those decadent little chocolate cakes with the red raspberry filling! Money vs Romance – remember, not all things are either/or. “AND” can often work very well too.

Regardless, the determined, solid Taurus influence enables us to get things done and finish whatever was started during the impetuous Aries Moon of the previous few days. You can manage your cash and still be good to yourself and loved ones.

Earthy Taurus / Airy Gemini – Weekend Moon

Friday June 15, 2012 graces us with a Taurus Moon all day. Venus rules this sensuous yet finance concerned Earth sign. You may choose to either tackle that bank statement or, indulge yourself, and partner, with delicious, chocolate dipped strawberries. Remember, not all things are either/or. “AND” can often work very well too :)

With the Sun currently in Gemini, the Saturday night switch to a Moon in the same Air sign will stimulate those traits for which this Mercury ruled sign is known. Its duality (the Twins?) can make us clever and versatile and also a little flighty and distracted. Go and chat someone up, but, think before you speak (or push “send” on that email or text).  

Taurus and Gemini Moons can lead us toward a social weekend: delicious food, entertaining conversation, high or low brow literary pursuits.

Weekend Moon: Friday Taurus, Sunday Gemini “New”!

May 18, 2012 could be a loving, luxurious Friday or a stubborn, determined one. When the Moon is in the Venus ruled, Fixed, Earth sign of Taurus, it’s all about sensuality, life’s beauty and pleasures, but it also brings forth the obstinate bull in us. Is there such a thing as inflexible love? Nobody wants to lose, give up/ give in, change direction. “Stickin-to-your-guns” works, until it doesn’t. Pay attention and accept when it stops. Regardless, surround yourself with good food, good people and good times.

On Sunday afternoon, May 20, the mood changes along with arrival of a Gemini New Moon. An initiative focused New Moon pushes us to “start” something. Since it’s in the 3rd sign of the Zodiac, ruled by Communication planet Mercury, whatever we start will probably be in some form of personal interaction – speaking, writing, etc. Launch an idea, a pitch, a book, an inquiry…

“Bull” Works! Sun in Taurus April 19, 2012

The Second sign of the Zodiac, Taurus, has the Bull as its symbol. Perfect! The Sun moves into stubborn, steady, strong, security focused Taurus on Thursday April 19, 2012. However, since it is ruled by the lovely, romantic planet Venus, this sign has several other dimensions.

For the next 4 weeks, we can tap into all that muscle and determination so that we solidify and complete the projects started during the high energy of the Aries Sun. Earthy Taurus may be practical and dependable, but its also, sensual, a lover of beauty, good food and luxury. Loved ones are treated to poetry, music and gourmet restaurants, while getting a lecture on avoiding financial pot holes. A nice mix.

A Snap, crackle and pop Aries Moon will spread its Mars influenced energy until Friday afternoon 7/22.  Make sure you have something physical to do. Keep recklessness to a minimum – only get close enough to the edge to stave off boredom. Reign in any aggressive urges, think before you act (rash impulses can lead to embarrassment?).  

Then late evening, settle down with the practical, determined Taurus Moon for the rest of the weekend. This Earth sign is ruled by Venus, so along with a little stubbornness, there will be romantic and luxe tendencies.  Have a lovely champagne and chocolates time wherever and whenever you can. Be obstinate only when it really matters.

BTW, Taurus is also about how to protect what is valued. You may want to take some time to decide what needs to be done to feel both financially and emotionally secure. Take care of yourself and loved ones.

Astrology: Weekend – Combustible Aries Moon Switches to Grounded Taurus

If you need to get something done, start and end early on Friday June 24, 2011. The fiery, energetic, aggressive influences of Mars ruled Aries will last until 6:07 PM Eastern/ 3:07 Pacific and then the Moon goes Void of Course until Saturday afternoon. All those “lets go get’em” vibes can lose clarity and focus which can lead to lots of action, but very little finish. Wait, if you can, until the Lunar orb moves into the next sign – Taurus, 4:53PM Eastern/ 1:53PM Pacific on June 25th.

Lasting until Monday morning, the practical, stubborn Taurus Moon can assist in completing what Aries started. This Earth sign is ruled by the lovely Venus – that old saying about catching more with honey, than vinegar (something like that) can be quite effective when finalizing a deal, cajoling a signature, nailing down a commitment. Be gracious while accomplishing. Charm works!

FYI:  “Void of Course” or VC or VOC -     As I’ve mentioned in this space before, “Void of Course” – means that the Moon position creates no aspects (relationships/connections) to the Sun or planets while on its way into the next sign.  A Moon without “aspects”, can be a time of vagueness and doubt.  The consensus among Astrologers is to “not start anything”.  Finishing projects that began before the “VC” can be handled and completed, but avoid initiating during this uncertain time.
