Communication & Caring – Weekend Moon

The Moon is in Gemini on Friday October 5, 2012. A set of twins is the usual symbol for Gemini and this duality makes us want to do two things at once- scrabble and crossword, chat and charm, read and write, FB and Twit. Just remember to breathe. Everything doesn’t have to happen at warp speed. Enjoy the communication, the interaction, the wit.

Next up, Saturday and Sunday, is the sensitive, nurturing, 4th sign of the Zodiac – Cancer. Ruled by the Moon, this caring, emotional Water sign can be moody and difficult, however, family and friends are always important and we will want to  look after them regardless of the mood we’re in.

Great Weekend = Gemini Moon, Cancer Moon

Start the weekend on Friday September 7th and experience 2 days of a variety loving Gemini Moon. Ruled by the planet Mercury, we will be compelled to communicate – some way, somehow. This versatile Air sign may mean leisurely networking, or active socializing, it can be fun for us and/or just busy – or both. With dual faceted Gemini, the need for flexibility rules. 

In time for Sunday brunch, the Lunar orb moves into it’s sign ruler – watery Cancer. Be prepared to dial it back a bit. The 4th sign of the Zodiac, sensitive, often moody and emotional,  is about protecting and nurturing. (It might be calming after all the Gemini twitting, emailing, voice mailing and FBing of the previous few days :) )

Full Moon in Cancer – Family, Friends, Food!

Sunday and Monday, January 8 and 9, 2012, the Moon is in home loving, nurturing Cancer. The Sun is in the opposite sign of Capricorn, until the 20th, and when the luminaries are facing each other, the Moon will be lit in “Full” phase. The Moon rules water sign Cancer and its caring, emotional, moody traits are pushed to the forefront. You can have fun checking in with friends and family you might have missed during the holidays. Devise healthy, but comforting, foods for loved ones. (Even if not at your most jovial, you will still want to be around them.)

Take advantage of Full Moon energy – clear out the old, make space for the new. Gather and tie up any loose ends of projects started at the last New Moon, 12/24/11. Putting the finishing touches on any hot DIY home improvements should go well when handled within the last 2 weeks after the Lunar orb is “Full”.  (The circle begins again at the next “New” phase, 1/22/12.)

Chat & Nurture – Weekend Moon in Gemini, then Cancer

All day Friday, January 6, 2012, is about Gemini Moon influences: craving variety, being flexible, needing to communicate – such as talking and texting at the same time. Just pay attention to what you say or write, don’t get sloppy. (Remember that old saying about “loose lips”, etc) 

Saturday afternoon quiets down the restless energy as the Cancer Moon glides us toward calm and comfort. There will be nesting instincts with lots of sensitivity and emotion thrown in. (Don’t take anything personally.) There may also be nurturing and caring, which usually involves food. Share. Besides being a nice thing to do, it will also cut down on any overeating tendencies that might surface.

Astrology: New Moon Weekend in Leo – This Could Be Exciting!

Both luminaries in the same sign means = “New Moon”. The Sun moved into ambitious, generous, enthusiastic Leo on July 22, 2011 and on Saturday July 30th, the Moon will also be in the same regal Fire sign. This is the 2nd “New” for this month – a rare occurrence. Since this particular Moon phase is always great for beginnings, take it as a sign of encouragement to initiate something in the next few days. If you have a project to get off the ground, someone that you need to enroll in your life, a presentation to make – charm and fortune are amped up. The Sun is powerful. Give yourself permission to shine.

The Moon remains in Sun ruled Leo until Sunday evening and it bodes well for an active, energetic, creative time. Put all that Solar driven joy and confidence all over people, give a performance, have fun with any melodrama that might ensue.  (Drama doesn’t always have to be a hissy fit.)

Possibilities for a fabulous weekend are endless. Let the good times…

Astrology: Weekend Moon in Gemini and Cancer 4/8/11 – Mixed Moods

The Friday morning Gemini Moon is just in time for leisurely networking or active socializing, or both – with dual faceted Gemini, variety reigns. This Air sign is ruled by the current Retrograde planet Mercury and we should be reminded to watch the details as we balance and sort how to spend time. My favorite example: “meet me in Paris” – Is it the one in Texas or France?  (I don’t know why this always makes me laugh :)

Things slow down in the evening until the Moon moves into Cancer, the Water sign that it rules, on Saturday afternoon and remains thru Monday morning. Rather than restless energy, there will be nesting instincts with some sensitivity and emotion thrown in. Caring and food can be major components.

Astrology: About That Gemini Moon This Weekend…

On Friday June11, the Moon will be in Gemini – it becomes “New” on Saturday the 12th.  The Moon is considered new when the Sun and Moon are in the same Zodiac sign and this time is great for new ideas and implementing new projects.

Air sign Gemini, ruled by Mercury, is considered the communication sign, and that is the area of life that will be enhanced – lots a talk, lots a writing (tweeting?), etc. BTW: Mercury will also be in Gemini at this time until 6/25/10 –  the themes of this “twinner” Sun sign are reinforced!  What can you create out of this?

On Saturday night, the Moon glides into nurturing, family oriented Cancer – remember that even though the Sun sign has changed, the effects of the “new” energy will still show up for approximately 10 days until the end of the 1st quarter.  Perhaps Cancer things, like home/family, will get a boost. (Pick something from your old DIY list to start? New cupcake recipe? Set up new behavior protocol for the kids?)

Regardless of the sign – this weekend is a good time to make plans concrete. All “new” things are highlighted and begging for action to be taken. Start something!
