New Moon in Capricorn, Weekend in Aquarius

The Lunar Orb is in ambitious, career minded Earth Sign Capricorn – a great way to start the year when you want to devise goals and plans for a status upgrade – strategize! Like all New Moons, it always occurs in the same sign as the current Sun placement intensifying and powering its Astrology traits, characteristics. As I’ve said before, New Moons are always full of “beginning” possibilities, this 10th sign of the Zodiac can supply the pragmatism and discipline to go forward and pursue a path to success.

Even though the Moon will change signs, the “New” energy lasts for about 10 days. From duty bound convention to irreverent rebel, Saturday and Sunday will be under the vibe of the friendly, unpredictable, independent Aquarius Moon. We may be more inclined to do something original, to be spontaneous, to be ready to join the revolution. (Find that old Che T-Shirt 8-) ) Organize a community or group to do some good.

Winter is Here & So Is The Capricorn Sun!

astrology_chartwheel 2The Sun enters Capricorn on Friday December 21, 2012, and it also heralds the Winter Solstice, the official start of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere. This Earth sign, ruled by Saturn, believes in duty, responsibility, and loves being in charge. Regardless of our birthday, we may all feel some of the ambitious, “being the Boss” Capricorn energy until January 19, 2013 when the Sun moves into rebellious Aquarius.  Also, note that feisty, in your face Warrior planet Mars is visiting Capricorn until December 26, 2012. Be careful with others as you tell them what to do (Christmas tree decorating is supposed to be fun). You can be authoritative with honey, rather than vinegar.

No need to experience a letdown after all the holiday spirit. It’s the perfect time to look at what we’ve accomplished in 2012 and make plans for 2013. With Capricorn‘s affinity for work and organization, we can keep busy, accomplished and sensible. Tune up career moves, plan your networking push, determine whatever needs to be shaped up and do it. Make something happen. Just don’t get so bogged down that you become rigid and/or cautious.  Relax, remember that you have a sense of humor – use it.

Varied Weekend Moon: Bossy Cap / Irreverent Aquarius

The Moon visits the ambitious, status concerned Earth sign of Capricorn on Friday February 17, 2012.  Ruled by Saturn, a Capricorn Moon can be a time of business focused, deliberate movement. It brings out the “administrator” in us – a perfect time to organize, assign tasks, give directions, take charge, move with purpose.

Early Sunday we go from duty bound stoic to friendly rebel – the unpredictable, freedom loving Air sign Aquarius. While under this Uranus ruled sign’s influence, we are in the mood to do something inventive and spontaneous usually with a group. Rally the troops for a favorite cause – they will bow to your command -maybe not quite, but they should be more agreeable than usual. Sort of like those fish (pike?) that don’t wait to be caught, they just jump into your boat. I personally feel that people want to be useful, to make a difference. This is the perfect weekend to herd  a team in the right direction.

Work or Revolt? Weekend Moon in Capricorn, then Aquarius

Most of the weekend belongs to an ambitious, focused Capricorn Moon. Ruled by Saturn, the planet of boundaries and life lessons (not always fun, but can be maturing) use this sign’s serious, organized and authoritarian energy to  accomplish, complete and be in charge. On Sunday night, January 22, 2012,there will be change when the Moon moves into the next sign, friendly, unpredictable Aquarius.

The Sun is already in the 11th sign of the Zodiac and when the Moon is visiting too, the Moon is called “New”. The 10 or so days following a New Moon is a great time to start a project, begin a class, create a masterpiece, etc. Power and possibilities for this Uranus ruled Air sign usually involves something to do with groups, or, something revolutionary- quite often both at the same time. Regardless, it will speak to Aquarian independence and love of the different.

Astrology: Weekend Full Moon in Aquarius * Radical Change?

The revolution may be televised, or not – but there will certainly be unusual, unconventional activity this weekend as we encounter a Full Moon in freedom loving, group focused Aquarius on Saturday 8/13/11. A stubborn, cause infused sign, it’s all about “We/Us” rather than “I/Me”.  Before jumping to the front lines, pause and reflect – is the issue real for you, or is the response automatic / knee jerk.  

With a Full Moon, the influence of Aquarian traits can intensify. Uranus, this independent Air sign’s planet ruler, loves change, hates constrictions and thrives on spontaneity, which can be exciting but precarious. Thinking works. You can still volunteer, organize, make a difference, do the “No Justice, No Peace” chant without falling off the edge. (Put that Molotov – whether it be verbal or actual -  back in the basement.)

FYI:  Moon will shift Sunday morning into imaginative, sensitive Pisces- create something. A positive way to contribute.

Astrology: Weekend Full Moon in Ambitious Capricorn,Then Surprising Aquarius 7/15

On Friday July 15th, the Sun is in Cancer, the Moon is lit up in the opposite sign, Capricorn– it’s that Full Moon time again! This matters to us why? Contrary to popular folklore, a round Moon is not a time for a werewolf/Vampire reveal, but it is a good time to tap into its energy. 

The Zodiac sign that houses the “Full” lunar orb has its traits and characteristics heightened for a few weeks. Saturn ruled Capricorn has ambitious leanings. It’s about status, authority and work. Career means what – to you? Success means what – to you?  Are your actions producing results? However, if there are any radical changes that need to be handled, wait until the Moon Phase is “New” on July 30th. (A New Moon works well for beginnings.)

Later that same afternoon, 1:40PM Pacific / 4:30PM Eastern, the Moon moves into Uranus ruled, freedom loving Aquarius. A definite change of mood. The 11th sign of the Zodiac is graciously service oriented, but unconventional, innovative and unwilling to conform. Prepare to say “I’m surprised” a few times and then think about it.
